Testimonials

Hello everyone,

My name is Sensu(Sue). I am an exchange student from Turkey and I am 16. I was always interested in music. I have been in many choirs back to Turkey, had my own band, have been playing guitar for 7 years. And I wanted to something about music here too of course! My host sister,Meredith Norris, has been singing in Solfege&Crescendo for many years. So I decided to join to too. I was in the Living Christmas Tree and Spring&Winter Concerts. And I must say that it was the best part of my exchange year. I've enjoyed every single second I've spent there and I've learned a lot there. As I said I've been interested in music for many years and have been in a lot of different choirs but this one was different. It is nothing like other choirs. Our director,Rebecca Hess,is the sweetest person you can ever meet. And anyone can learn a lot from her.If I had the chance to stay here I'd never quit but now it is time for me to go back to Turkey. And before I leave I strongly suggest everyone who is interested in music to join the SLC Community Choirs or at least to see one of their concerts because I can tell you that you'll LOVE it.

Thanks for everyone in the SLC Community Choirs,I'll never forget the times I've spent there and you all will be missed.

I really enjoy singing but I am by no means a great singer.  SLCCC gives me a place to meet together with other singers, learn from awesome leadership and perform in my community.  It is a great opportunity to get to know people in our area, in a variety of age ranges and fields, that also enjoy choral music.  You don't have to be the best singer, lead vocalist, Broadway star to be in this choir.  You need a willingness to learn and love to have a good time!

This is my fourth and final year in Solfege.  I have learned many things over the past few years in Solfege.  I learned how to read vocal music and what different signs in music mean.  Being in a choir is similar to being on a team; you need to work together, as a team, to sing well together, so there is also a teamwork aspect to the choir as well.  I enjoy singing with Solfege and every year we do fun things.  The past few years the choir went to the Hershey Choral Festival, mainly to get feedback from the judges.  Every year Solfege scored very high with excellent reviews from the judges.  Two years ago, we sang on WJTL radio live from the studio.  We’ve also performed at a Veterans’ Day ceremony.  I would never get these opportunities without the choir.

I look forward to singing new places this year. I am Looking for more testimonials if you are interested please send them To me Brice Hobbs @ duckward2@aol.com.  I will promptly display them along with your photo on this page. Thank You!
